Jillian Balser, MHP, MSSW, RYT

Jillian believes in the inner wisdom and resiliency that exists within each individual, and feels honored to walk beside her clients as they tap into their own inner resources and engage in their unique healing journey. Known for her warm and inviting nature, Jillian has a person-centered and integrative approach to care, incorporating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness into her therapeutic work. Jillian specializes in providing evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents and young adults, and enjoys working with clients of various cultural backgrounds and with a wide variety of clinical concerns. Her clinical interests include trauma-related disorders, anxiety & depressive disorders, OC-spectrum disorders, eating disorders, and student-athlete mental health. 

Jillian earned her Master of Public Health degree from Vanderbilt University, and her Master of Science in Social Work degree through the University of Tennessee. During graduate school, Jillian completed her concentration internship with the University Counseling Center at Vanderbilt, where she provided individual therapy for undergraduate and graduate students. Jillian also completed the Trauma Treatment Graduate Certificate Program through UT College of Social Work, and has a rich educational and experiential background in trauma-informed care. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance®, Jillian also has experience leading trauma-informed yoga in various behavioral health settings and enjoys incorporating mindfulness and movement-based therapies into her work with clients.

As self-care, Jillian enjoys all kinds of crafting (particularly painting, sewing, and drawing), being outside in nature, running, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
