Biography

Cathy has a passion for showing others their strengths in difficult situations. She believes that each person can overcome their situation once given the proper tools to address it and provides a warm, understanding and empathetic atmosphere. She understands that each individual and couple are unique and will collaborate with the client(s) to find the best possible solution. Cathy’s greatest joy as a therapist is to watch her clients address their difficult circumstance to a happier and more peaceful life.

Cathy is licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) by the State of Tennessee and has a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. In the past she has worked in multiple settings that addressed life transitions for teenagers as well as adults. Her training includes counseling couples through relationship difficulties as well as individuals working through depression, anxiety, self-esteem and trauma. Cathy uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Reflective Listening, Gottman Theory, as well as many other therapies to assist each client or couple to address their concerns.
